Rhode Island Station
The mixed-use, mixed-income Rhode Island Station project is a transit-oriented development located in a severely economically distressed area and connected to the Washington DC Metro's Red Line and 14 bus routes. A complex public-private financing partnership helped the project move forward in a difficult economic climate. The design for Rhode Island Station received the Smart Growth Recognition award for green features from the Washington Smart Growth Alliance.
